Protest actions may disrupt operations in Rotterdam port area

Demonstrations scheduled for 26 and 27 June raise risk of blockages across road, rail and inland waterways

Protest actions may disrupt operations in Rotterdam port area

A series of actions is planned for 26 and 27 June in and around the port of Rotterdam, organised by the Dutch group Geef Tegengas.

The group is preparing large-scale demonstrations focused on disrupting the flow of goods while expressing opposition to arms transports and exploitation.

The group has outlined several objectives. These include calling for an immediate halt to the transport of weapons and goods to and from Israel, pursuing climate action by removing polluting industrial flows and fossil infrastructure, and addressing human rights concerns by countering transports and raw materials linked to violations.

The specific nature, locations and extent of the action have not been fully detailed in advance. However, there is a possibility that activities could result in localised blockages and affect logistics processes.

Disruptions may occur across various transport modes. Potential impacts have been identified for road, rail and inland waterway operations, where congestion or access limitations could arise.

Stakeholders have been advised to take possible disruption into account and to implement precautionary measures in advance of the planned activities.
