Disruptions to container movements expected for 17 November

According to Kuehne+Nagel, the labour union strike planned for 17 November in Genoa will now involve all ports across Italy.


Truck drivers are also expected to join the strike, which increases the risk of terminal gates being blocked.


Disruptions to water and landside operations can be expected for 4 hours that day. It is worth mentioning that the strike was originally planned for 24 hours but was later reduced.

According to a new Kuehne+Nagel update, the 24-hour strike at the GMT Terminal in Genoa planned for 7 November was cancelled by the labour unions involved.


The announcement adds that other strikes, originally planned for 8 and 9 November at the terminal, were also called off.


However, the unions now confirm that a full-day strike will take place at Genoa Prà and Sech terminals on Friday, 17 November.


Disruption to port operations and transportation of containers is expected on that day.
