National federation calls for 24-hour strike in France's ports today

Dockworkers walked out at 6:00 am this morning and are expected to end their strike at 06:00 am on 24 November

This morning, a 24-hour strike started at France's ports and is expected to continue until 6:00 am tomorrow, 24 November.


Local news reported that the National Federation of Ports and Docks CGT called for a strike to showcase their refusal of the pension reform, which implementation started in September 2023.


The workers are also calling for an end to overtime and exceptional shifts.


According to Kuehne+Nagel sources, the work stoppage will include the ports of Le Havre, Marseille-Fos and Rouen. Following are the details also found in our advisory.


Le Havre

Operations stopped on 23 November at 06:00 am and will resume on 24 November, at 6:00 am.


Marseille-Fos:

  • Marseille: operations stopped on 22 November from 8:00 pm to 23 November 3:00 am; and will stop today, 23 November, from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
  • Fos: operations stopped on 23 November at 12:00 am and will continue until 24 November at 3:00 am.

Rouen

Operations stopped on 23 November at 12:00 am and will continue until 24 November at 12:00 am.
