In a new advisory, South Korea's liner HMM warned against sailing to Cambodia via Thailand due to the current conflict between the two neighbouring countries.
The statement writes, "Given the uncertainty of the current situation, HMM strongly recommends against using the trade route via Thailand for in-transit shipments to Cambodia," reports Shipping Watch.
The carrier expects significant delays and longer processing times at the ports of Thailand for Cambodia-bound cargo.
This development further complicates the transport situation in the region after the closure of border crossings between Thailand and Cambodia.

Kuehne+Nagel reports that on 23 June, the Thai military ordered all permanent and temporary border checkpoints between Thailand and Cambodia closed.
Escalations on the border prompted the decision, which includes suspending all cross-border vehicle movement and trade activities, with the exception of humanitarian needs.
The closure is indefinite and will likely remain in place until the security situation stabilises, reports local news.
The situation impacts the transport of cargo by road and the movement of citizens for as long as the borders are closed.
