An update on rail operations across Italy shows that planned disruption due to maintenance will continue to affect several major routes in the country.
The Bologna–Prato line will remain closed until 14 December 2025, reducing the weekly train frequency to and from La Spezia and Livorno ports. Additional works began on 5 October on the Gioia Tauro route, resulting in shorter trains and reduced capacity.
In addition, the Brescia–Verona line experienced intermittent closures earlier this month. Further interruptions are planned for 15, 17, and 29 November, as well as 1 and 6 December 2025. During these dates, no trains will operate to or from Verona via Rivalta.
Further restrictions will impact San Ferdinando Station at Gioia Tauro. Until February 2026, only one track will be available for arrivals and departures. The number of tracks will be increased to three between February and 28 June 2026. Significant delays are anticipated, though the full impact remains under review.
Additionally, Trieste Campo Marzio Station will close from 30 December 2025 to 3 January 2026.
Finally, traffic on the Voghera–Broni section of the Alessandria–Piacenza line will be suspended from 00:30 on 17 January to 04:30 on 19 January 2026, affecting trains on the Ravenna–Rivalta, Genova–Marzaglia, and Marzaglia–Genova routes.
