Union assemblies in Genoa, Italy, may disrupt port terminal operations

The Port of Genoa, Italy, is expected to face temporary operational limitations across multiple port terminals on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

Kuehne+Nagel reports that assemblies are planned during the morning and early afternoon and could affect terminal activities during the specified time windows.

The assemblies will be held at the following terminals between 09:00 to 14:00 local time:

  • PSA Sech Terminal
  • Bettolo Terminal
  • Bettolo Terminal
  • Messina Terminal
  • San Giorgio Terminal

At PSA Sech Terminal, all operational activities will be suspended between 09:30 and 13:30. The terminal has confirmed that the final time for truck gate entry will be 09:00. Throughout the suspension period, both gate-in and gate-out operations will be unavailable.

Bettolo Terminal will conduct a dockworkers’ assembly. Hence, terminal operations cannot be guaranteed from 09:30 until 13:30, which may affect normal operational continuity during these hours.

At PSA Genoa Prà Terminal, an assembly was called for members of labour unions CGIL, CISL, and UIL. As a result, terminal operations may not be guaranteed from 09:00 to 14:00.

Messina Terminal will hold a members’ assembly scheduled from 09:00 to 13:30. During this period, terminal operations may not be guaranteed.

San Giorgio Terminal is likewise involved, with a trade union assembly scheduled between 09:00 and 13:30. Similar to the other terminals, operations may not be guaranteed during this period.
