Due to planned strikes, Italy has been experiencing significant disruptions in its rail transportation sector.

An advisory circulated by carrier MSC expects an impact on rail services at ports during the strike.

Italian Railway enterprises called a national strike from 5 May 21:00 to 6 May 21:00 local time, which resulted in minor congestion in ports.

A national strike is also planned on 23 May, affecting rail transport across the country. Kuehne+Nagel expects disruption to intermodal traffic, but the extent of the impact remains unclear.

Another regional rail strike is scheduled from 27 May 03:00 to 28 May 02:00, with guaranteed minimum services in place.

These strikes are part of a broader wave of industrial actions in Italy, including a nationwide air transport strike that took place on 9 May.
