Unions COBAS and USB strikes to impact cargo and passenger transport, with significant effects on Genoa Port operations and rail services

April, May strikes disrupt operations in Genoa Port, Italy

Italian labour unions COBAS and USB plan several strikes in April and May, potentially disrupting cargo and passenger transport by rail and Genoa Port operations.

COBAS union members will strike for 24 hours on Friday, 11 April.

Genoa port operators expect this to impact port operations, including gate access and container transport to and from the port.

Impact on vessel operations is expected to be minimal.

Similarly, the USB union will hold a strike from 21:00 on 5 May until 21:00 on 6 May. Rail operations run by USB members will be halted during this period.
