A tragic accident occurred at Genoa Port in the early hours of today, 18 December, leading to the closure of the PSA Genoa Pra terminal at the Genoa port.
The incident, which happened around 02:40, resulted in the death of one worker and injuries to another.
In response, port workers have decided to strike as a sign of mourning and solidarity. Port authorities announced the port will remain closed for today.
The Italian authorities were promptly on the scene to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
This closure is anticipated to have an effect on port operations and linked transportation today.
It is also expected to impact transportation in the upcoming days, particularly before the holiday season.
