Members of the Transporters Association operating in and around Kandla and Mundra Ports has announced an indefinite strike starting from 12 September 2025.
The association expressed frustration over what is described as the deteriorating condition of the roads, despite repeated reminders to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) over the past year.
As a result, transport staff will start a "No Road No Toll" protest on 12 September where they will not pay any tolls until the roads are properly repaired.
The association announced it will halt transport movement until its demands are accepted by the NHAI.
The strike is expected to affect India's private port, Mundra, as well as Kandla Port.
In addition, all transport unions in the Kutch district have called for an indefinite voluntary closure of services from 12 September 2025.
The impending strike is likely to cause significant disruptions for cargo movement across the district.
