Ports in Portugal will witness a series of strikes in September to push for retirement amendments.
According to local news, there will be a series of 48-hour strikes at all ports on the following days:
- On Monday, 16 September, beginning at 07:00 local time
- On Monday, 23 September, beginning at 07:00 local time
- On Monday, 30 September, beginning at 07:00 local time
Negotiations on the age of retirement have been ongoing in the country, which has yet to provide citizens with a concrete proposal.
Last year, port pilots staged prolonged strikes for the same issue, causing vessel traffic disruptions throughout November 2023.
