Operations stop at Northern European ports

Ports in the Netherlands and the UK interrupt operations today due to high winds

Strong winds today have caused operational interruptions at some of Europe's main ports.

DP World Southampton in the UK took measures to shut down vessel operations at 9:00 today. According to the advisory, it continues its landside services with lower productivity.

The Port of Liverpool advised that extremely high winds had brought operations to a full stop at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 early this morning. It is added that it is expected to be wind-bound for most of today and tonight.

In the Netherlands, terminals in Rotterdam were also impacted by strong winds in the late morning. Rotterdam World Gateway advised it has ceased operations at 11:00 on 15 April for safety reasons. Similarly, APM Terminals Maasvlakte II shut down operations at midday.
