Heavy rainfall in October 2025 resulted in landslides and flooding across multiple states in Mexico. Impacted states include Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi and Chiapas.
As a consequence, the power supply was disrupted in 20 municipalities, leaving more than 150,000 residents without electricity.
According to government reports issued on 12 October, at least 44 fatalities have been recorded in Mexico following several days of intense rainfall.
The latest worsening weather conditions were attributed to tropical storms Priscilla and Raymond, which triggered landslides and flooding across five states.
Disruption to cargo transport in the affected regions and to operations at the Port of Veracruz is expected.
