Container liner Maersk announced on Tuesday that its alliance with Hapag-Lloyd achieved a 93.2% reliability in June.

In a social media post, the carrier said: "Our East-West network is fully live, and the results are already exceeding expectations."

"With its June performance – the fully phased-in network’s first month – showing 93.2% reliability, we are delivering on our ambition of more dependable and predictable services," adds Maersk.

Analysts and intelligence firms have also confirmed the improvement in the schedule reliability of the network.

London-based maritime consultancy firm Drewry highlighted in a recent report that the performance of Gemini's vessels was "at least twice as good as the average performance of the Ocean Alliance vessels and the Premier Alliance vessels, on the key transpacific and Asia-Europe routes in June."

Meanwhile, maritime intelligence firm Sea-Intelligence reported on the performance across major alliances in the second quarter of this year.

According to their data, the latest schedule reliability reveals a significant improvement across carrier alliances.

The findings show that the Gemini Cooperation emerged as the leading performer, achieving an impressive 89.3% reliability for Q2-2025. This is nearly 40 percentage points higher than last year’s alliance average.

The firm compared the results with the performance of the world’s largest carrier, MSC. The Swiss-Italian carrier followed with 76.5% on-time performance, says Sea-Intelligence.

Ocean Alliance registered a moderate increase to 58.9%, and the Premier Alliance, though showing some progress, remained the least reliable at 53.3%.

Kuehne+Nagel's own reliability tracking shows Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd maintaining on-time performance rates around 80%. This figure includes both alliance and independently operated services.

This level of consistency highlights their solid scheduling discipline across different operational models.

On-time performance has increased globally last month, with several trade routes registering their best performance of the year. Check the latest data in Seaexplorer's Schedule Reliability Report for June 2025.
