A fire incident occurred on the 9466-TEU container ship Ever Lenient while the vessel was alongside at PSA Pasir Panjang Terminal in the Port of Singapore.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) received notification of the situation at around 15:00 local time on Friday, 10 April. Emergency procedures were activated immediately after the alert.
On Saturday afternoon, 11 April, the MPA confirmed that the fire had been successfully brought under control. Officials stated that inspections following the operation showed no remaining heat on the vessel.
All crew members aboard Ever Lenient were confirmed safe, with no injuries reported. Authorities also stated that no oil pollution resulted from the incident.
Throughout the response period, operations at PSA Pasir Panjang Terminal were not disrupted, and normal port activity continued.
PSA Singapore mobilised its internal emergency team and is assisting with subsequent tasks, including the controlled removal of containers affected by the fire.
The MPA has launched an investigation to establish the cause of the fire. The authority has not provided further details on the circumstances leading to the incident.
