Evergreen containership Ever Feat experienced a container stack collapse off the coast of Rio Grande, Brazil, on 28 July.

The vessel, en route from Navegantes, encountered a shift in cargo, resulting in damage to 30-40 containers. It is currently unknown if any containers were lost overboard.

Seaexplorer data shows that Ever Feat is now berthed at Montevideo, Uruguay, where the affected containers will be resecured so that the vessel can continue its voyage.

According to Marine Traffic, the incident occurred after the ship encountered a storm near Brazil.

Cargo salvage operations are underway, and an exclusion zone has been established to secure the cargo containers aboard the vessel.

In addition, the Coast Guard has issued a series of recommendations for handling the containers, as they contain fertilisers and might be toxic or polluting.

The Ever Feat is a Liberian-flagged container vessel with a capacity of 11000 TEU, built in 2021. The boxship is currently deployed on Evergreen's ESA service.
