A new tropical cyclone, Bualoi, formed in the Southeast Asia region on 25 September and is expected to impact the Philippines, Vietnam and Laos today.
The Philippines' weather forecast agency (PAGASA) reported that the storm will have maximum sustained winds of up to 135 kph.
Rough seas of up to 6 metres are anticipated within 48 hours in coastal regions, which would likely halt port operations in the area.
The Thai Meteorological Department has reported that Bualoi is expected to reach the South China Sea between 26 and 27 September.
Typhoon Bualoi, the 20th storm of the season, comes right after typhoon Ragasa, which caused suspended operations at Chinese ports earlier this week.
