CMA CGM, in collaboration with COSCO Shipping, Evergreen, and OOCL, has announced the "DAY 9 Product" launch as part of the renewed OCEAN Alliance.
This maritime service network, effective April 2025, aims to provide shippers with an extensive and reliable product.
The "DAY 9 Product" will continue to be routed around the Cape of Good Hope. Nevertheless, the alliance is prepared to route through the Suez Canal should the Red Sea crisis be resolved.
The new offering will deploy 380 container ships across 37 services on major trade routes, providing a total capacity of approximately 4.8 million TEUs.
The network will link significant regions, including Asia, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and North America's East and West coasts, as follows:
- 7 services between Asia and Northern Europe.
- 4 services between Asia and the Mediterranean.
- 18 Transpacific services, including routes to the East and West coasts of the United States and Canada (starting 1 May 2025).
- 3 Transatlantic services connecting Northern Europe to North American ports.
- 3 services between Asia and the Persian Gulf.
- 2 services connecting Asia to the Red Sea (suspended until further notice)
Furthermore, CMA CGM adds that it is committed to achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050 and implementing the best available solutions to reduce the environmental impact of shipping and logistics. The group plans to operate more than 131 container ships powered with low-carbon fuel by 2028, part of which is already deployed on the OCEAN Alliance network.
Launched in 2017, The OCEAN alliance includes three of the top ten shipping lines, making its network the largest in the world. In February 2024, the partners extended their cooperation for another five years, through 2032.
