On Monday, 4 August, the 4544-TEU boxship Maersk Gironde collided with the car carrier SFL Composer near the Danish island of Funen.
The incident resulted in both vessels sustaining damage above the waterline.
According to the Danish Maritime Authority, "Both vessels are safely anchored and awaiting assessment of the damage."
The ship was en route from Wilhelmshaven, Germany, to Gdansk, Poland, at the time of the collision.
No injuries were reported, and there is no immediate threat of an oil spill. The exact cause of the collision remains unknown.
