The US Administration adjusted import tariffs on timber, lumber, and derivative wood products on 29 September.

Effective 14 October 2025, the US will apply a 10% tariff on softwood timber and lumber, 25% on certain upholstered wooden products, and 25% on kitchen cabinets and vanities, including parts.

According to the announcement, these rates will escalate on 1 January 2026 to 30% and 50%, respectively, for upholstered products and cabinets, unless exempted by bilateral or multilateral agreements.

However, in keeping with current agreements, products originating from the EU, UK, and Japan will be subject to reduced rates, not exceeding 10%–15%.

Other details of these tariffs can be found in the announcement published by The White House.
