UK, Denmark ports report suspended operations due to high winds

Impact of adverse weather conditions could remain throughout today

Container terminals in the United Kingdom and Denmark reported operational disruptions today due to high winds.

Severe weather conditions pushed APM Terminals to stop operations at Denmark's Aarhus Port. In a communication sent today, the port operator said, "Due to high winds, we have currently stopped all operations at APM Terminals in Aarhus."

Operational interruptions at other North European ports are also expected in the next few hours as strong winds continue to affect most of the region. However, at the same time, the status is subject to change as the weather conditions adjust. Please refer to seaexplorer to check status updates.

In the UK, the Port of Liverpool said all operations at Terminal 1 and 2 are currently on stop. According to the wind map provided by the port, strong gusts of wind are expected to remain through the evening and the early hours of tomorrow.

Kuehne+Nagel sources have also reported that high winds are impacting operations in the empty compound of Grangemouth Port, Scotland. The level of disruption is expected to be intermittent, depending on the wind.

In addition, Freightliner's Leeds intermodal terminal has partially closed operations due to adverse weather conditions.
