A new super typhoon, Dolphin, has formed in the Pacific Ocean southeast of Japan and is forecast to move towards waters south of Japan over the coming days.
Dolphin is expected to continue on a west-northwest track, indicating that it could reach seas near Japan’s Minami-Torishima Island by Sunday before approaching the Ogasawara Islands by Tuesday.
Additionally, weather authorities said Dolphin is likely to track towards the vicinity of the East China Sea over the coming days.
They added that the system’s outer subsiding airstream is expected to contribute to very hot conditions along the coast of southeastern China, Hong Kong and South Korea.
That said, the exact impact of the storm remains unknown and is dependent on the its track as it develops in the next few days.
