Local news reported that Typhoon Bebinca made landfall in Shanghai on Monday, 16 September 2024.

Bebinca, which is thought to be the biggest typhoon to hit Shanghai in 75 years, has caused the city to experience gales and deluges of rain.

Tang Jie, vice head of the Shanghai Typhoon Institute of the China Meteorological Administration, stated that the wind and rain will pick up on Monday night and that the typhoon's full effect may be felt after it makes landfall.

Kuehne+Nagel expects severe weather conditions to impact operations at the Port of Shanghai. Ningbo Port terminals are expected to run contingency plans as well.

Last week, some carriers announced operation adjustments for the Shanghai YS terminal.
