Workers at the ports of Le Have, Rouen, and Fos-sur-Mer will stage a new strike action from 6 to 8 June, according to Kuehne+Nagel sources. Cargo handling and operations at the ports are likely to witness disruption and delays. Following are the details for each of the three ports:
- Le Havre: A 4-hour shutdown is scheduled for 6, 7 and 8 June.
- Rouen: A 4-hour shutdown is scheduled from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on 6, 7 and 8 June.
- Fos-sur-Mer: A 4-hour shutdown is scheduled from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on 6, 7 and 8 June.
The Kuehne+Nagel advisory highlighted that delays in container withdrawals and returns could lead to "additional costs for the goods and shift shipping and delivery schedules."
In addition to ports, the country will witness strikes on the rail network from 26 May until 31 May. A report by crisis observation and management firm Crisis24 revealed, "railway workers represented by the CGT (General Workers' Confederation) union plan to strike in south and southeast France, May 26-29, and nationwide on May 31."
Demonstrations by workers are expected to occur during the days of the strikes.
