Italy faces nationwide strike on 12 December 2025

Italy will experience a nationwide general strike on Friday, 12 December, organised by the country’s main union confederation, CGIL.

The stoppage will run for the entire day and will involve workers from both public and private sectors.

According to local media, the strike is expected to be the most extensive disruption of the month for daily travel and commuting.

Freight transport may also face slowdowns during the action.

Logistics businesses have been advised that delivery delays and limitations in vehicle availability could occur.

Other strikes are also planned throughout December, affecting passenger rail, aviation, ferry transport and national logistics.
