Flooding and landslides disrupt central, eastern Vietnam

Prolonged heavy rainfall combined with river flooding has severely impacted central Vietnam and the country's east coast.

In some areas, water levels have reached depths of up to two metres.

On 19 November, officials confirmed that multiple locations, including parts of old Quy Nhon City and Tuy Phuoc, remain submerged.

The provincial authorities have activated flood warning systems and issued several directives to manage the crisis.

Heavy rain has also caused spillway flooding and landslides, damaging transport routes and infrastructure throughout the province.

Ports, such as Qui Nhon, Da Nang and Chu Lai, on the east coast of Vietnam, may have operational difficulties as a result of the bad weather.
