The national weather agency in Portugal issued an orange warning for the cities of Lisbon, Setúbal, and Leiria yesterday due to heavy rainfall caused by Storm Martinho.

The warning was further extended to other regions, including Faro and Beja.

The depression is expected to bring strong winds and high waves, particularly affecting the central and southern regions of mainland Portugal.

According to MSC, container port terminals in the country will be closed for three days until 21 March.

Bad weather has also impacted operations at the ports of Casablanca and Tanger Med.

Weather forecasts for 19 March indicated high winds will impact the port of Casablanca, with disruptions expected from 19 March until 21 March, as per a government alert.
