Hamburg witnessed more protests by farmers yesterday, with reports of hundreds of tractors targeting the area near Hamburg Port. The farmers' protests made their way to the heart of the city, bringing traffic to a standstill during rush hour.

A smaller number of tractors gathered today on the Finkenwerder Ring close to the port, reported local news NDR. This led to the closure of the Hamburg-Waltershof motorway junction and heavy traffic on multiple routes in the area.

Similar blockades were reported yesterday around the ports of Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven. Container pick-ups witnessed extended delays at all of the three ports.

Delays and disruptions to port operations and freight transport are expected to continue today, especially after news of failed talks between the framers and the government.
