Bulk carrier carrying grains from Ukraine ran aground 16 January
Update:
Tugboats succeeded in releasing the bulk carrier MKK-1, which ran aground yesterday morning, blocking traffic in Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait for several hours.
According to Lloyd's List, the incident significantly reduced the number of ships able to pass through the passage to almost 50%.

During the early hours of today, a bulk carrier carrying grain ran aground in the Bosphorus Strait, blocking traffic for other ships.
The bulk carrier was on its way from Ukraine to Istanbul when the incident occurred off Sariyer, the northernmost district of Istanbul. Operations to re-float the ship have not been successful yet, and the strait remains closed.
According to Reuters, no damage was reported to the vessel. Several tugs were sent to provide assistance to the ship, reported local authorities.
