On 22 October, a low-pressure area intensified into a depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal, developing into cyclone Dana.

Forecasts predict heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha, Bangladesh's coastal and northern regions. A red alert has been issued for coastal districts, warning of heavy showers, high winds, and storm surges.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued warnings for four coastal areas due to the strengthening of the low-pressure system.

The cyclone impacts container port areas of Chittagong (Chattogram), Payra and Mongla, where rough sea conditions are reported.

The ports have been directed to take cautionary measures until further instructions.

India's northeastern ports are also impacted by the storm.

Kuehne+Nagel reports that the ports of Paradip and Haldia are currently highly disrupted, while the ports of Kolkata and Vizag are experiencing slightly disrupted operations.

Container liners have anchored their vessels in safe sea areas until weather conditions improve.

In the Philippines, tropical storm Trami, also known as Kristine, is moving northwest towards Luzon Island and is expected to make landfall near Aurora and Isabela provinces.

The country's Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued warnings for northern and central regions as the storm is forecast to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall.

According to Crisis24, the storm has caused significant transportation disruptions, flooding, and landslides, which are causing widespread damage.
