Upcoming infrastructure works will significantly impact rail operations in Northern Germany during the first week of October.
From 2 to 6 October 2025, all rail connections to and from the Port of Bremerhaven will be completely suspended due to rail construction on the section between Bremen and Lübberstedt.
This closure will affect both passenger and freight traffic, necessitating reduced train frequencies and detours.
The railway line will suspend access to the port for about five days, resulting in the complete halt of container movements.
The reason for the full closure is the renewal of several signal boxes and signalling systems.
