PSA International handles 105m teu globally in 2025

SINGAPORE-headquartered terminal operator PSA International Limited posted a record 105m teu in container handling globally in 2025.

Total volumes rose 5% compared to the year before, when PSA first surpassed the 100m teu mark.

Its Singapore terminal saw a throughput of 44.5m teu. This was 8% higher than 2024 and a new record. It also accounted for around 99% of Singapore’s throughput in 2025.

Terminals outside of Singapore registered 60.5m teu – 2% higher than the year before.

"In 2025, the global economy continued to face persistent geopolitical volatility, trade pressures, technological disruptions and climate shifts," said PSA International group chairman Peter Voser. "Navigating these complexities, the Group delivered a commendable record container throughput, made possible through strong collaboration with our customers, partners, and associates."

The port operator manages over 70 deep-sea, rail and inland terminals, across more than 180 locations in 45 countries – including two flagship port operations in Singapore and Belgium.

Expansions are underway to boost global handling capacity.

In November, Saudi Global Ports, a partnership between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Al Blagha Holdings and PSA, broke ground on expanding Terminal 2 at King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam. This will raise port capacity to 3.8m teu.

Last September, it inaugurated Phase 2 of the Mumbai terminal expansion which will double the annual handling capacity of the terminal to 4.8m teu.
