Port cities in Australia will witness a national day of protests on Saturday, 25 May, that could impact road transport and port operations.
According to the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA), mass pro-Palestine demonstrations are planned in multiple cities in the country to expand boycott campaigns against "ZIM Shipping and all Israeli trade."
The protests will be held in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Fremantle, among other cities.
In Sydney, Foreshore Road will be closed northbound between Penrhyn Road and the Port Botany between 13:15 and 15:00 local time. Trucks over 25m will not be able to exit or enter the port during the protests.
Furthermore, DP World in Sydney announced that trucking operations would be closed and cancelled for Saturday between 13:00 and 14:00 local time.
