Container carrier ONE published an update on the status of the boxship ONE Henry Hudson, which experienced a fire incident on Friday, 21 November.
The vessel was at the Port of Los Angeles when the incident occurred, causing a temporary closure on Friday night.
The fire was “substantially contained” after several hours, and operations at the port were fully resumed over the weekend.
On 25 November, ONE announced that "some containers which are onboard may have been affected," adding that the "investigation and assessment of the vessel and cargo condition are still ongoing."
According to the Journal of Commerce, authorities identified some hazardous materials in some containers, which might have intensified the fire.
However, recent reports mention that the blaze began with an electrical fire below deck and later caused subsequent explosions on the ship.
Seaexplorer data shows that the 8212-TEU vessel, deployed on ONE's FP1-EUROPE service, remains currently near Los Angeles.
