Rail traffic in Uelzen, northern Germany, is experiencing significant disruptions due to lightning strikes and signal issues.

According to local rail transport providers, the Hamburg-Hannover and Bremen-Hannover routes are particularly affected, and delays in loading and departures and partial cancellations are expected.

A lightning strike closed the route between the east and north, leading to a substantial backlog.

Although the closure is gradually lifted, all trains are currently stationary and awaiting clearance for onward travel or departure.

It remains uncertain whether this clearance will be granted today or if operations will resume tomorrow.

In Hamburg Port, the EUROKOMBI Terminal is also experiencing handling delays of approximately 5-6 hours.

While the CTB terminal has cleared its backlog, delays in loading and departure and partial cancellation continue to be anticipated.
