Witnesses reported dark plumes of smoke rising from the vicinity of the country's main maritime port.

This ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been impacting the country for nearly two years, leading to what is described as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.

The situation escalated over the weekend, with a drone attack against the Osman Digna Air Base, a warehouse, and civilian facilities near Port Sudan Airport, causing significant damage.

The attacks have had a profound impact on Port Sudan, a central hub for the army and a refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
