Containership Ever Lucid awaits investigation after collision with bulk carrier

No damages were reported to the boxship, but it remains anchored off shore of Qingdao Port as authorities investigate the accident

On 14 March, boxship Ever Lucid collided with a bulk carrier while en route from Qingdao Port to Shanghai Port.


While no damages were reported to the containership, bulk carrier HUAHAI 78 sustained major damages, rendering it unfit for navigation.


According to the Qingdao Maritime Affairs Bureau, Ever Lucid took on board the twelve crew members of the bulk carrier and brought them to shore at Qingdao Port.


The ship has been anchored off the port since the accident and is awaiting investigation by authorities.


Ever Lucid is an 8508-TEU ship and it is currently deployed on the Asia-Indian Subcontinent service CMX6JDX of the Ocean Alliance.
