The Odessa Journal recently reported that French container giant CMA CGM resumed direct services to the Brooklyn-Kyiv Port terminal at Odessa Port, Ukraine.
Citing Viktor Berestenko, President of the Ukrainian Association of International Forwarders, the journal said that the first vessel, Lila Canada, arrived on 7 February, with another expected on 21 February.
Seaexplorer shows that the service the French liner is offering for Odessa is the ODX service.
The media further mentioned that CMA CGM will provide direct connections between Greece and Ukraine on the Piraeus – Istanbul – Odessa route.
CMA CGM is the first major liner to operate a direct service between Greece and Ukraine since the invasion. Other carriers, including Maersk, MSC, and Hapag-Lloyd, have also resumed services to Ukrainian ports, enhancing connectivity amid geopolitical tension.
Danish media Shipping Watch reports that Maersk also announced resuming connections from Egypt to the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk near Odessa with a new weekly feeder service.
Last year, MSC and Hapag-Lloyd also announced launching regular shuttle services with calls in Ukraine.
