Closures impact train schedules in Slovenia, Koper Port

Significant delays and train cancellations are expected, with adjustments based on infrastructure capacity

Due to ongoing closures and limited capacities within Slovenia, the local railway infrastructure manager, SŽ TP, has announced necessary adjustments to the train departure schedules.

These changes include a daily schedule review and a reduction in the number of trains operating, which eventually impacts the rail transport of containers to and from the Port of Koper.

According to an advisory, 11 pairs of trains have been cancelled last week, leading to significant delays in rail services.

Seaexplorer data shows that the 7-day average vessel waiting time at Koper Port has been approximately 2.5 days.

Dwell times for containers at the port are currently 3 days for imports and 8 days for exports.
