Update: 15.12.2023
Conflicting information was found this morning about yesterday's Red Sea attack.
According to a post published today by Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sare'e, Maersk Gibraltar was "targeted by a drone, and the hit was accurate."
Meanwhile, a Mearsk spokesperson informed Reuters by email that the attack was unsuccessful and the drone did not hit the vessel.
In addition, Reuters cited a US official as saying that the attack was "unsuccessful in forcing the ship to stop."
At this time, the exact location of the vessel remains unknown.
Maersk did not publish news about the incident on its website but advised customers about a change of plan for the container vessel Maersk Pangani.
"Maersk Pangani will be omitting Jebel Ali, and all cargo booked to Jebel Ali will be moved to the Leonidio," said the carrier in a statement.
It added that the container ship is "expected to Phase out of the MW1 service after calling her India ports."

Danish news outlet Shipping Watch reported that the container ship Maersk Gibraltar was attacked by a missile while navigating the Red Sea today.
The carrier confirmed the news to Shipping Watch saying that the incident occurred while the vessel was en route from Salalah, Oman, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
"At this time, we are still working to establish the facts of the incident," said the carrier.
According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO), there were several incidents reported today near Bab al-Mandab Strait.
It advised vessels to "transit with caution and report any suspicious activity."
In addition, Reuters reported that the US forces shot down an aerial vehicle launched from a Houthi-controlled area in response to a call from a tanker in the southern Red Sea on Wednesday.
The status of the Maersk ship remains unclear at the moment.
Seaexplorer data shows that Maersk Gibraltar is a 10,100 TEU ship currently deployed on Maersk's Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to North Europe and Mediterranean service, ME2.
