On Friday morning, the Maritime Employers Association (MEA) received a notice from the Port of Montreal Longshoremen’s Union - CUPE Local 375, announcing a three-day strike at the Viau and Maisonneuve container terminals.

The strike is set to commence on Monday, 30 September, at 7:00 local time, and will continue until Thursday, 3 October, at 6:59 local time. This action specifically targets the two Termont Montreal terminals: Maisonneuve and Viau.

These pressure tactics will suspend mooring services and cargo handling at the Termont terminals. Access to these terminals will be prohibited, and no rail, vessel, or truck services will be provided during the strike period.

It is important to note that other terminals at the Port of Montreal will remain operational during this time.
