Red Sea diverted vessels - 2 January 2024

In light of the developments in the Red Sea, Kuehne+Nagel provides you with a list of diverted vessels based on the latest vessel tracking data

In view of recent incidents affecting container vessels in the Red Sea, we acknowledge that communication is key.

To keep you informed, Kuehne+Nagel will regularly publish a list of the vessels diverted to sail via the Cape of Good Hope.

So far, we have identified 330 vessels impacted by the Red Sea situation. The total capacity is estimated at 4.5 million TEU.

Following efforts over the weekend by Houthi militants to board the container ship Maersk Hangzhou, Maersk decided to pause all transits through the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden until further notice.

Similarly, German carrier Hapag-Lloyd told Reuters that it will continue to take the Cape of Good Hope route until 9 January.
