Pro-Palestine protests disrupts operations at Melbourne's Webb Dock

Container flow at Victoria International Container Terminal halted until late afternoon

Early this morning, protestors gathered at Melbourne's Webb Dock, blocking truck access to Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) and causing delays in container movements.

The demonstration, organised by activist groups, involved physical obstructions including vehicles and lock-on devices at terminal entry points. Victoria Police responded to the scene and deployed crowd control measures to restore access.

Truck traffic in and out of VICT was temporarily halted until 15:30 local time. Container handling operations also experienced delays due to restricted access.

Kuehne+Nagel is actively monitoring the situation and working closely with port authorities and partners to minimise disruption. Customers with shipments routed through Webb Dock may experience delays in container availability and delivery schedules.

The protest follows a series of similar actions, including a blockade in January 2024 that temporarily suspended operations at VICT.
