Operations at Argentinian ports will halt for 12 hours due to strike

Local news reported that the strike will start today, 24 January, at 12:00 pm and will impact all ports

All Argentinean ports will witness a 12-hour closure today, 24 January, as part of a nationwide strike against the government's deregulation and economic reform campaign.

Multiple labour unions in Argentina, including the country's largest union, the CGT, called on their members to take to the streets for 12 hours today, starting at noon and until midnight.

The strike is expected to impact operations at all ports as all services come to a standstill. Kuehne+Nagel sources further reveal that container pick-ups and deliveries will not be allowed during this time period.

In addition, customs authorities will operate with guards only until 11:00 am to join the industrial action. Mass demonstrations in main cities are also planned throughout the day.
