The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have reached an agreement, and workers have agreed to return to work.
The two parties reached a "tentative" agreement on a 61.5% pay raise and the current contract will be extended until 15 January 2025.
While this is positive news, please be aware that recovery and cleanup would take a while.
Due to the three-day strike, it is expected that it will take 2-3 weeks to return to normalised operations.
In addition, delays and congestion are expected at the terminals as operations resume.
