Adani gets nod to build Vietnamese port

15 July (Lloyd's List) - ADANI will build a port in Da Nang, Vietnam as it looks to add to its international assets.

The India-based port operator reached an “in-principle approval from the Vietnamese government”, Adani managing director Karan Adani told Bloomberg.

He said the project was at an early stage, but that the port would have container terminals and multipurpose berths.

This will be Adani’s fourth international port, alongside Haifa, Israel, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The group also operates Mundra, which is India’s biggest commercial port.

Adani said he wanted to make India a maritime hub and was targeting countries with a high population and manufacturing output.
