The 2022 revenues reached $36.4 billion

Hamburg-based carrier Hapag-Lloyd issued today its financial results for the fiscal year 2022 as it celebrates its 175th anniversary.
According to the press release, the carrier closed the year with strong results, earning $36.4bn in revenue – a $10bn increase compared to 2021. The year’s EBITDA reached $20.5bn, and the EBIT rose to $18.5bn.
While it achieved a revenue increase for the full year, the company noted that by the end of the year, “the freight rate had significantly come back down as congestion eased and demand declined.”
